TREK TO DODITAL:
A seven day trek to Heaven on Earth-Dodital !!. With hearts filled with
excitement and anticipation to scale the Himalayas, the trekkers of our
school undertook 7-days filled with difficult mountaineering and
enjoyed 7-nights filled with fun and frolic. Walking at a height of
more than 6000 ft. on a meandering path filled with pointed stones,
with a weight of more than 15kg on their backs…22kms seemed like
FOREVER!. Their camp was at a ht. of 10,000 ft. above sea-level &
was situated right beside the TAL, which is fed by the water from the
melting glaciers. Their target was to reach 'DARVA TOP' situated at a
ht. of 15,000ft. above sea- level. The arduous journey began early in
the morning and after climbing steep rocks and skiing on the glaciers,
they reached the top. The next day , ten girls accompanied by one of
the Instructors went to the 'KASYASTRU PASS', which even though at a
lesser altitude, is very steep and is immensely beautiful!. They
started their descent and covered 22kms in one day! (which in itself
was a great accomplishment!!) The trek was very educative for them. The
most important lesson was that nothing is IMPOSSIBLE! To have faith in
oneself & try to be an achiever rather than calling Quits, should
be the bottom line, during life's struggle. |

Staff orientation program by Father Verghese Alegaden |
|
10th July |
School re-opens and an Orientation was conducted by Father Verghese
Alegaden for the entire school. He emphasized on Visions. He said that
we, in today's world are blinded by lucre and have become selfish.
Vision is the main thing that is lacking in each one of us. He said
that all of us must have a vision and only then we will be able to
prove ourselves as true human-beings and make this world a better place
to live in. |
|
20th July |
Life Orientation-(adjusting with relation to surroundings programme)
was held for class XII. It was conducted by Father Rogers and Father
Victor Lobo. It was an innovating experience for all of us and we
learnt about a lot of things including the real meaning of friendship,
love, etc. We learnt that happiness is a shy bird. If you hunt it, it
will fly from you. We are restless, discontented people, who having no
inward happiness, seek it in outward things where we do not often find
it. True source of happiness lies within. The kingdom of happiness like
the kingdom of heaven 'is within you'. Above all, in forgetting
oneself, in seeking the happiness of our fellows will ever be found the
truest happiness. |
